Curriculum

Our learning methodology and teaching aids incorporate the best practices of our in-house knowledge in addition to expertise from the best external sources. Age appropriateness alongside a complete roadmap to the comprehensive development of a child during the entire academic year is practised at Chimply Fun. All along, we make sure that the fun element is never lost at any point in time!

Pedagogy (Education philosophy)

Strong believers of incorporating the best practices of various systems, we follow the universally renowned and recognised Waldorf philosophy. The approach gives particular importance to the role of imagination in learning and places a strong value in integrating intellectual, practical, and artistic activities across the curriculum rather than learning each academic discipline as a separate concern. The educational philosophy’s overeaching goal is to develop free, morally responsible and integrated individuals equipped with a high degree of social competence.
Multiple Intelligence: In addition to following the Waldorf philosophy we also amalgamate the principles of the Multiple Intelligences theory as proposed by Howard Gardner. It is a theory of intelligence that differentiates it into specific (primarily sensory) “modalities”, rather than seeing intelligence as dominated by a single general ability. Gardner chose eight abilities that he held to meet these criteria: musical-rhythmic, visual-spatial, verbal-linguistic, logical-mathematical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic.
Many of our daily activities are designed around this philosophy.

Rhythm in routine: The entire universe follows a certain rhythm and it greatly helps if the child’s activities also are set to a rhythm so that they are in harmony in nature. We have so designed the child’s daily routine at school so that expanding activities (like play, physical learning) and contracting activities (puzzles, writing etc.) always alternate each other and follow a rhythmic pattern.
Cookery classes: Appeasing all the senses of a child kindles the life force in him/her. Aromas heighten the senses and also help cherish favourite memories and bring forth a sense of wellness in the child. So we have periodic cookery sessions for all classes where we have seen active involvement of all children with profound interest.
Transition songs: Singing has a soothing effect on a child in comparison to actual conversations and hence elicits a better response in most situations. Hence when transitioning from one activity to the other, we sing songs relevant to the situation to make it smooth and enjoyable.
Nature table/ doll house: Working with the limbs is of utmost importance in a child’s early years. We have devised various play stations for children where they will use their limbs extensively to build and create things by themselves some of which are the nature table and doll house.

Making the child feel at home: During the child’s initial days at school our paramount priority is to make the child comfortable in his/her new environment. Hence our system allows for the parents to accompany and attend classes with the child till such time he/she has settled in.
Carefully thought out/researched/tried activities are what we offer for our children. Every activity done by the child is done with a definitive purpose of developing his knowledge, grooming his personality, identify his expertise, inculcate healthy/hygienic habits and behaviour, encourage the concept of keeping fit and eventually make the inclusive approach transform him/her to a better individual.

Children’s library
